Kagandahang-Asal sa Paggamit ng Gadget sa Opisina

Common courtesy and proper etiquette is basic knowledge to most people. Our standards on how to properly act and carry our selves is quite similar to the etiquette of technology. In the final analysis, they both hold ONE VALUE- isipin muna ang kapakanan ng iba at magbigay respeto at konsiderasyon sa lahat ng tao.

People who regularly hold the door and remember to say "please" and "thank you" may not all know when to turn their phones off or when to switch their mobiles to silent mode. With these concerns in mind, we offer these guidelines for minding your tech-gadget manners as you manage your career:

off
  • Turn off your phones kung may meeting: Unless you must use your PDA or cell phone to take notes or participate better during a meeting, presentation or any other business gathering, turn your phone off. Maaring mawala ang respeto ng iyong mga kasamahan kung makikita nilang ikaw mismo ay hindi marunong magpahalaga sa inyong pagpupulong.
calling
  • Kung may importanteng tawag na hinihintay, ipagpaalam sa mga ka-meeting: If the call is with regard to business or if it’s a family emergency, excuse your self from the room and take the call outside. Maiintindihan ka ng mga kasamahn mo kung talagang importante ang iyong tawag.
ipod
  • Isaalang-alang ang iyong mga kasamahan at kapaligiran: You won't impress anyone by wearing your iPod during a presentation or tinkering with your PDA’s over lunch. Refrain from using your gadgets especially when in a conversation or during important get-togethers. Hindi ka maiintindihan ng mga tao lalo na kung hindi sila “techy” kagaya mo.
texting
  • Mas importante ang kaharap kaysa sa ka-text: Just remember that except in extraordinary situations, the person you're facing should take precedence over the person you're texting or chatting with on your latest device.
culture
  • Huwag ipagwalang bahala ang pagkakaiba sa kultura: Having greater social consciousness about cell phone use is very important. In other cultures like Japan, a tech savvy country, people would cover their mouths with their hands while they speak on their phones in order to level down the noise. Should you be in the company of people who are more particular with keeping their phone calls private and their cell phones quiet, act accordingly. Matuto kang makisama!

talking
  • Huwag magtext kung kailangan magsalita: Typing while talking won't win you any etiquette points. Text messaging in particular, can be viewed as an intrusion. Text messaging forces you to lose eye contact and sends the message that you are not fully engaged in the conversation. Maaring humingi ng kaunting minuto para sa mga importanteng reply. Galanging ang kausap sa pamamagitan ng pagbigay ng buong atensyon lalo na kung ang usapan ay lubhang mahalaga.
