Her beauty stands out due to her features that show her mixed heritage of German and Filipino. She didn’t take advantage of that though by pursuing modeling; instead, it was modeling that pursued her.

Jen was discovered in the most spontaneous way – in the mall. Aside from that, she also participated frequently as a muse in school. From there, she stopped her schooling for 2 years at the age of 16 because of her modeling career.

For some (if not most) of the models today, modeling is just a way to earn income. This is partially true for Jen because her modeling career also helps her family financially. However, she also likes modeling because of the fashion. “I love to mix and match clothes that suit my personality,” she says. While modeling may require her to wear revealing clothes, Jen is supported by her parents. This sentiment however is not shared by her ex-boyfriend who didn’t approve of her sexy outfits.

Now 5 years in the business, Jen has already graduated from college and is modeling full-time. She’s done photoshoots, events and recently she modeled for the Manila Auto Salon as well as the Bumper 2 Bumper V car shows. Amongst all her modeling experiences, she loves walking on the ramp the most because of the excitement she gets.

While she may be handling her modeling career now, she explained that this is just a hobby. She would want to travel around the world and so far, she’s been doing just that by going to China, Morroco and Dubai to name a few. She also plans to work in another country or be a flight attendant. “Finally, I want to own my own business; probably a restaurant if ever,” she shares. As for modeling, she’ll just have fun for the meantime, modeling for fashion.

This Christmas, CgeNa asked what gadgets Jen got herself for the holiday season. So far, she has a brand new Sony DSC-T900 digital camera, an Acer Aspire Timeline 4810T, and most off all, a Nokia N95 8GB, her favorite gadget as of the moment. "Having a cellphone in hand is important," she explains. "I really can’t leave home without it!"

Apple iPod Nano 5th Generation : The latest generation of iPod Nano is definitely a big improvement from the last. The sound quality is better, the display screen is so far the largest, and the aluminum casing is polished to give that cool and classy look. An FM tuner is on-board just in case you get tired of your own music. A pedometer is pretty handy for those athletic types. And last but definitely not the least, a video camera is present so you can have a new feature to fiddle with your portable media player. One last thing: amidst all these new additions, the price remains the same, with the 16GB costing at around PhP 10,000.

Nokia 5230 : Although its design looks like it was copied from the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, the Nokia 5230 brings a breath of fresh and exciting air with its choice of bright-colored back covers. Even though it is not Wi-Fi, the phone is 3G. A 2 MP camera and VGA recording is on-board, as well as a document viewer, music and video player, and a GPS with A-GPS support. The entry level touchscreen Nokia 5230 retails for about PhP 10,000.

Guest Photographer: Roxanne Nebres

Roxanne Nebres

Before Rox’s big break as the photographer for Pinoy musician Bamboo, she started out her love for photography during her 4th year in highschool when she got her first digital camera and instantly fell in love with it. Her talent became known during her 2nd year in college when she borrowed her friend’s camera to take pictures during a concert of Bamboo and posted it on the internet. People loved her work so much that it reached Bamboo’s eyes and eventually, was taken under their wing. Aside from that, she, together with fellow photographer Gia Lalu, formed "Project Nebula", doing make-up and picturing anything, ranging from concerts, to concept shoots, to fashion. Their biggest project yet was with Hale’s new album. Being concert photography as her first love, she explains that she loves taking pictures of people the most. "It’s satisfying how I can show beauty through the emotions of people," she says, expressing her love for photography with her Canon EOS 450D dangling from her neck. For now, she’s focusing on working on Project Nebula, hoping to get more famous in due time.
